Ken Clark and Jason Worley are your hosts. Ken has several cohosts/guests today. Hopefully all persons who you will recognize. Representative Chris Holbert, Senator Ted Harvey, Senator Kevin Grantham, and Senator Tim Neville. We begin with a conversation about the special session called by Governor Hickenlooper, why it is he called the special session, and Civil Unions. Even if you favor Civil Unions; can we admit there were some serious problems with this bill within the text and in the process by which it was advanced? A reporter wanted to know if Speaker McNulty is concerned with having sealed his legacy as a bigot. What has been the motivation of Democrats? To divide Americans, or to motivate their base? 11 different bills between the two houses during the special session; how many will survive to the end? Why did the governor feel a special session was needed? Why did he not make an effort to work toward a compromise as his first option? Grassroots Radio Colorado May 15th Hour 2

Ken Clark and Jason Worley are your hosts. Ken reclaims his microphone after having had to miss the Tuesday broadcast. The first hour is a fund raiser. Don’t run away, this isn’t a PBS style fund raiser where more time is spent on begging than on content. This is a fund raiser for the Leadership Program of the Rockies . Joining in on the fund raiser and informing us at the very same time is Constitutional expert Thomas L. Krannawitter.
Do not think that because the live broadcast is over that you cannot donate to LPR. Listen to the whole hour to learn why this particular fund raiser is being held. Grassroots Radio Colorado May 9th Hour 2

Jason Worley and Ken Clark are your hosts. Ken reclaims his microphone after having had to miss the Tuesday broadcast. The Civil Unions bill/SB2, has caused some serious consternation throughout the state of Colorado. It had been effectively killed, but Governor Hickenlooper has called a special session to deal with Civil Unions in the state of Colorado. Journalist Kelly Sloan wrote a piece about this today and joins Jason and Ken in studio. In that piece, outgoing Senator, Shawn Mitchell provided his thoughts: “We have been debating this issue for years, and the voters rejected it. If Colorado does in fact need civil unions, it is certainly not a forest fire that requires us to spend tens of thousands of taxpayers dollars convening a special session.” Did the Democrats hold other bills hostage, unto their death, in order to attempt to pass SB2? Moving on... energy. Pop culture matters. Occupy provides some closing moments entertainment and humor. Next Page |
